The American Revolution was fought not only by famous generals and statesmen, but by ordinary men whose lives were disrupted and reshaped by the events unfolding around them. Through the experiences of three very different patriots, we will explore military service, migration, land, and life on the frontier.

But how do we move beyond names, dates, and service records to better understand their lives? Along the way, discover how artificial intelligence became a research and creative partner, helping visualize migration, interpret unfamiliar historical terms, explore context, and transform complex genealogical research into meaningful infographics. The records provide evidence; AI helps us see what questions to ask next.

Join Emily Coffman Richardson for “Revolutionary Lives Revealed: Patriots, Genealogy, and AI” at the Denton County Genealogical Society’s monthly meeting, Thursday, October 8th. Attendees will gather at the Emily Fowler Central Library meeting room, 502 Oakland Street in Denton. Social time begins at 6:30 p.m., with a brief business meeting at 7 p.m., followed by the presentation. Visitors are welcome.

Emily is a professional genealogist and lecturer living in Denton, Texas. She began her genealogy research working with her mother in courthouses and cemeteries, finding records for her ancestors in Ohio and Pennsylvania. In 2019, she retired from higher education as a faculty member and administrator, moved to Texas and opened up Kinsearchers, the original name of her mother’s business as a genealogist. For her clients she often works on lineage applications, for multiple societies, as well as brick walls including research for name conflicts within family trees.

She is the current president of the Texas State Genealogical Society (TxSGS). She previously served as secretary for four years and as the Director-at-Large for the executive committee for TxSGS. She oversees the production of the new TxSGS Podcast, Lone Star Family Trails..
